These 13 players are set to miss one of the few League One games going ahead this weekend

Just three games are going ahead in League One this weekend, and after failing to take the top spot last weekend, Plymouth Argyle are looking to bounce back.

When a win would have seen them hit the summit, the Pilgrims were shocked by Burton Albion at Home Park last weekend. They're one of the few sides who haven't had either of their games postponed, though, with them back in action at Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Richie Wellens' side have had the rub of the green this specific international window, earning a week's rest last weekend due to international call-ups in the Mansfield Town camp, but returning to action this Saturday, avoiding the need to rearrange two games.

A win for the O's could see them climb into the top six, results dependent elsewhere, but it would definitely allow them to leapfrog Plymouth, who come into this weekend in fourth.

It's been a gruelling opening month or so of the season, with both sides far from full strength. These 13 players are set to miss out.

Starting with the hosts, and while this game is going ahead, Leyton Orient aren't without their own players on international duty.

Captain Isaac Hayden is the biggest miss out of the couple of players away with their country. The 31-year-old is currently playing a part in Jamaica's CONCACAF Nations League fixtures, where he's started both games thus far.

Sean Clare is the other player out on international duty in the Orient camp. The 30-year-old made his debut for the Turks and Caicos Islands last week in their CONCACAF Nations League matchup against Montserrat.

Clare has only started one league game this season, but has featured in each of the last five matchday squads.

Leyton Orient's most recent injury concern surrounds on-loan goalkeeper Oliver Dovin, who returned to parent club Coventry City last weekend after suffering a serious shoulder injury during his debut for the O's in the Jersey Mike's trophy against Arsenal U21s.

It's a massive blow for the two-time Swedish international, who was making his return from 18 months out with an ACL injury. He's set to miss up to six weeks.

Alfie Gilchrist has yet to properly get going on loan at Leyton Orient. The West Brom man came off the bench in the first two league games before making his first start against Walsall in the EFL Cup.

After coming off at half-time in that penalty win, though, the 22-year-old hasn't featured in a squad since. A recent matchday preview suggested he was working his way back to full fitness.

Demetri Mitchell had started his first three league games and picked up three assists across them before being withdrawn 39 minutes into the 3-2 loss at Wycombe Wanderers a few weeks ago.

The 29-year-old is also said to be working his way back to fitness, but this one may come too soon.

Somto Boniface hit an early roadblock in the first senior loan of his career. The ex-Chelsea academy man is currently spending the season at Brisbane Road on loan from Ipswich Town.

After starting the first two games of the campaign in all competitions, the 20-year-old went down with a knee injury on the opening day of the League One campaign against Sheffield Wednesday.

Ollie O'Neill

There weren't too many positives from last season at Brisbane Road, but an increase in output from Ollie O'Neill wouldn't have gone amiss. Unfortunately, he has yet to back up his four-goal, nine-assist campaign so far this season.

The 23-year-old has been missing since the Easter weekend last season, with Orient fans eagerly awaiting his return.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green

It's nearing a year now since centre-back Rarmani Edmonds-Green last played for Leyton Orient, after he suffered an ACL injury in mid-October last season against Doncaster Rovers.

Orient shored up their defence in the summer with the addition of Joseph Olowu and the promotion of academy graduate Phil Chindedu, so it'll be intriguing to see where the 27-year-old fits in when he returns.

Injuries are what have seen someone as talented as Aaron Connolly drop to League One at just 26, and he's yet to feature this season after undergoing shoulder surgery for an injury picked up on the final day last season at Burton.

The Irishman only played 21 times in league action last season, scoring eight and assisting four.

Owen Oseni had only been back for a couple of weeks before going down with an ankle injury in Plymouth's Jersey Mike's Trophy opener against Crystal Palace's Under-21s a couple of weeks ago.

The 23-year-old was seen on crutches after the game, and while head coach Tom Cleverley doesn't think the resulting scan was the worst outcome, he didn't give a timescale for when he could be back.
