The 2025-26 season again saw several young players making their debuts with the FC Barcelona first team, and several more would be looking to reach this milestone in the upcoming season. This is particularly the case as Hansi Flick has already called up several youngsters from the youth academy to start the preseason with him on July 13th.

Among those who played for the first time for Hansi Flick last season was also the youngster Dani Rodriguez. He played in the La Liga game against Real Valladolid, which ended in a 1-2 win for the Catalans, at the age of 19 years, 8 months, and 24 days.

The winger is currently playing for Barcelona Atletic, but according to Mundo Deportivo, has already decided to leave the Blaugrana club this summer. He wants to take the next step in his career by playing for a bigger side, and understands that his chances of making it to the first team are not too bright, as he plays in the same position as Lamine Yamal.

In fact, he was ready to leave last summer as well, but ultimately, he did not receive an offer from the two sides interested in him, Mallorca and Valencia. The Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb is emerging as a likely destination for the winger, but he is still waiting for an offer to materialize, and would prioritize a side that best suits his plans of continuing his development and growth.

As things stand, Dani Rodriguez has only a year left on his contract. However, before leaving, he can agree to a renewal, to allow Barcelona to keep some control over him, in the form of a buyback clause or some other similar arrangement. Hopefully, he would soon find a good destination for him, and continue his journey and growth to realize his immense potential.
