Ninth-placed Karlsruhe entertain Arminia Bielefeld on Friday in 2. Bundesliga. Only VfL Bochum are between these teams in the standings, but Mitch Kniat’s side are six points behind their hosts.
The gap is similar to the one between tenth-placed Bochum and bottom-placed Preußen Münster. While Karlsruhe seemed to be safe, Bielefeld are in real danger of relegation in their first season back in 2. Bundesliga.
However, Bielefeld enjoyed one of their best games in the reverse fixture. Four goals in the space of 15 minutes secured their first win over Karlsruhe since 2015. The newly-promoted side will be without Benjamin Boakye and Marvin Mehlem due to suspensions.
