Karlsruher SC host Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday afternoon as the 2026/27 2. Bundesliga kicks off for both clubs.
According to BuLi News, they were separated by five points last season, each finishing in the lower half of the table.
Arminia marked their return with a stunning 5-1 win at Fortuna Düsseldorf on opening day last term. Karlsruhe also began with a 3-2 victory over SC Preußen Münster.
Their head-to-heads delivered goals too. Bielefeld took the first meeting 4-0, then squandered a lead in a 4-1 defeat at BBBank Wildpark in April.
Both sides start under new coaches, with Maximilian Senft and Oliver Kirch preparing for their first matches at this level.
Karlsruhe will be without Andreas Müller, who is about to follow Fabian Schleusener in moving to Düsseldorf. Tunisian youngster Louey Ben Farhat is a doubt after missing friendlies with Inter and Hoffenheim. For Arminia, Leon Schneider misses out with a muscle injury.
Predicted line-ups. Karlsruhe: Bernat, Jung, Kobald, Franke, Ofli, Civeja, Zor, Pinto Pedrosa, Wanitzek ©, Fukuda, Broschinski. Bielefeld: Kersken, Koudossou, Bauer ©, Großer, Handwerker, Russo, Mehlem, Wörl, Momuluh, Grodowski ©, Rochelt.
