Chelsea will be without Wesley Fofana for next week’s game against Arsenal, and young winger Estevao is an injury doubt as well.

Amid their existing injury absentees, Chelsea will certainly be without centre-back Wesley Fofana for next week’s visit to the Emirates Stadium.

That’s because the defender will be suspended, having picked up a red card for two bookings against Burnley on Saturday. He’ll only serve a one-match ban, but that’s enough to rule him out against Arsenal.

To make matters worse for next weekend’s visitors, Estevao is also a doubt, having missed out on Chelsea’s squad against Burnley completely.

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Estevao felt something in his hamstring during the team’s training session on Friday, adding: “At the moment we are scanning it to make sure it’s nothing too serious but he’s unavailable for today’s game and we will see from there.”

If the injury is even a minor strain, it would raise concerns about Estevao’s availability against Arsenal in just seven days’ time.

The Standard report that Estevao is indeed a doubt for the Arsenal match, and we’ll likely know more over the next few days.

Longer-term absentees Levi Colwill, Jamie Gittens, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Marc Cucurella will also miss the Arsenal match, but Romeo Lavia should be an option after his return to the bench for the Burnley game this weekend.
