Ipswich Town will look to finalise a permanent deal for Cedric Kipre in January, and they could also be in the market for new strikers.
The January transfer window is always crucial in the promotion race, and Ipswich Town will no doubt be looking to do business to enhance Kieran McKenna’s squad.
In truth, the Tractor Boys head into the New Year not needing to make major changes, as they have a group that is stacked full of quality, and there is plenty of strength in depth.
So, the recruitment team at Portman Road won’t be panicking, although they will recognise that there are areas they can improve.

One priority for the Suffolk side will be to secure the future of Cedric Kipre, with the defender currently on loan at the club from Reims, with the ex-West Brom man establishing himself as an important player.
Therefore, keeping him for the long-term makes a lot of sense, and Kipre has already made it clear that he wants to stay at the club.
That means that a deal should be relatively straightforward to do, but it may not be the only bit of business that Ipswich do.
With that in mind, we look at TWO further players that Ipswich should look to sign…

In terms of strengthening the squad, it’s pretty clear that Ipswich’s major issue right now is with their strikers.
George Hirst is the first-choice number nine, but he has found the net just six times. Meanwhile, Ivan Azon has struggled since his arrival this summer, and it’s the same story with Chuba Akpom, who may have his loan with the club cut short.
That means the Tractor Boys will surely be targeting a proven Championship goalscorer, and Leeds United’s Joel Piroe fits the bill.
He has impressed at this level with Swansea and the Yorkshire outfit, and the fact he has won promotion is another bonus, as he has been there and done it.
Given the attacking quality in the Ipswich squad, Piroe could get plenty of opportunities, and you would back him to score plenty of goals.
With Piroe struggling for game time at Elland Road, and with Leeds expected to add another attacker, they may be open to a sale to raise more funds for Daniel Farke.

As mentioned, there are not a lot of weaknesses in this Ipswich squad, so there is a real possibility that they do bring in two strikers to help their promotion push.
In January, it’s important to target players who you believe can hit the ground running, and Sam Surridge is another who could do just that.
The ex-Nottingham Forest man is currently with MLS outfit Nashville, and he has just enjoyed a brilliant individual campaign, with Lionel Messi the only player to outscore Sturridge in the regular season.
So, he brings a major goal threat, and Surridge also has the profile that McKenna wants from a number nine, in that he will work hard, run the channels, and could be the ideal focal point for the team.
