Watford continued their unbeaten start to life back in the Championship last night drawing 1-1 away at Birmingham City.
The Hornets dominated possession in the match, but the home side proved a tough nut to crack, taking the lead against the run of play in the first half via George Hall.
Watford eventually equalised in the second half, but were unable to find a winner on the night.
Having said that, with two weeks left in the transfer window, the Hornets could still do with a few new additions.
With that in mind, here, we’ve identified two realistic signings that Rob Edwards’ side should make before the September 1st transfer deadline.
One player that the Hornets should be looking to get over the line is Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause.
Samir recently departed Vicarage Road, leaving Rob Edwards without a left-footed central defender, something, it could be argued, that is a key aspect of the Hornets’ bosses three at the back system.

We know Watford are in discussions with Villa regarding the 27-year-old, and with the transfer deadline fast approaching, they should be trying to get the deal done as soon as possible.
Hause is out of favour at Villa, but would still be an excellent addition at the back for a Championship side.
Another central defender that Watford are in contact over a potential transfer for at the moment is Jack Stephens.
Whilst the Hornets central defensive options are stacked at present, Stephens would represent an upgrade on most of their current options.
Having racked up 122 Premier League appearances, he should be a top defender at Championship level, and alongside the likes of Kortney Hause and Francisco Sierralta, could form a formidable three man back line for the Hornets.
Stephens’ arrival would also likely free up Mattie Pollock to go out on loan once again – a move he should certainly be looking to make if he isn’t going to get much first team action at Vicarage Road.
