With the summer transfer window still ongoing, FC Barcelona are looking to wrap up certain transfer operations in the final days. However, not all of the operations that are being worked on are necessarily blockbuster deals that will have people waiting until the final day.

For instance, the Julian Alvarez saga continues to be riddled with complications despite major recent developments taking place as well. On the other hand, however, the departure of a particular academy talent now seems to be imminent.

Linked to the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Real Sociedad, 20-year-old Spanish full-back Hector Fort seems incredibly likely to leave this summer. In fact, according to the latest update from JijantesFC, Fort has decided to join Real Sociedad this summer over his German suitors.

Furthermore, the update claims that the player is finalising the last details to sort out the move completely and make the move to San Sebastian. It will likely be a permanent transfer, meaning that this is the end of his run at Barcelona despite being an academy talent who showed a lot of promise.

It was reported previously that Real Sociedad were willing to make a push to sign the Spaniard despite knowing that the Bundesliga side was in a better position to acquire him. However, it now seems that the Spanish club has managed to convince the La Masia talent somehow.

Interestingly, Fort is not the only Barcelona full-back who has been linked to an exit this summer. Previously, Alejandro Balde was expected to be leaving as well, but it seems now that the player has made up his mind about wanting to stay and fight for a place under Hansi Flick. However, the situation is completely different for Fort, who will likely not be given enough minutes this season to even prove that he can stay and compete for opportunities.
