2026 Ballon d’Or: These Three Bayern Stars Are Nominated | OneFootball

FC Bayern has reason to celebrate with a whole host of nominations for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. With Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz, three Munich players are on the shortlist for the most prestigious individual award in world soccer. In addition, the club itself, Vincent Kompany, and young prospect Lennart Karl are also nominated for awards.

The prestigious Ballon d’Or will be awarded on October 26. Among the 30 nominees are three FC Bayern stars: Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz.

After an outstanding season, Harry Kane enters the race as one of the top favorites. The Englishman scored a whopping 73 goals in 65 appearances during the 2025–26 season. Only Lionel Messi has ever scored more goals in a single season.

In addition to his goals, Kane impressed with his playmaking abilities. The striker celebrated the German championship and the DFB Cup with Bayern and led the record champions to the Champions League semifinals. This marks Kane’s seventh Ballon d’Or nomination.

Michael Olise also looks back on an extraordinary season. The Frenchman tallied 27 goals and 35 assists in 69 competitive matches for Bayern and France. In the Bundesliga, he had 15 goals and 21 assists. With these contributions, Olise played a key role in the club’s double and was named Bundesliga Player of the Season.

At the World Cup, the Frenchman set the record for the most assists in a single World Cup with seven.

Luis Diaz rounds out the Bayern trio. After his move to Munich, the Colombian immediately established himself as a key part of the offense. He scored 30 goals and set up 23 more in 66 competitive matches.

Kompany and Karl were also nominated

But that’s not all: FC Bayern itself has been nominated for “Men’s Club of the Year.” Vincent Kompany can also hope for a personal award. The Bayern coach is among the five nominees for “Men’s Coach of the Year.”

His successful second season in Munich—which included a league title, a cup victory, and a Champions League semifinal appearance—earned him international recognition.

Lennart Karl secured another nomination. The 18-year-old Bayern prospect was nominated for the “Men’s Young Talent” award. Karl finally made the leap to the pros in 2025–26, scored his first Champions League goal against Club Brugge, and became the youngest Bayern goal-scorer in the history of the competition.

The Ballon d’Or gala will take place on October 26, 2026, in London. For FC Bayern, this could mean an evening with several potential awards.
