Milan signed 2 players this January – but one of them won’t join the squad until summer, and didn’t have any first team member depart.

Despite having a very thin squad, Milan are having a good season, currently in 2nd place in Serie A, just behind Inter. And so, the fans were expecting some reinforcements which would allow Max Allegri fight for the Sccudetto. But instead it was a quiet January with only a single addition.

Niclas Füllkrug arrived from West Ham on loan with option to buy, while Alphadjo Cissè joined on deadline day but will stay in Serie B until the end of the season. Milan were looking to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crysal Palace but backed out of the deal in the last moment due to concerns over his knee despite negotiating for days with all the parties.

In the exits department nothing really happened either, and the only player leaving was Divock Origi who finally got his contract cancelled.
