Nigeria hosts Benin this Tuesday, October 14, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium for Matchday 10 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles no longer have their fate in their own hands. Sitting third in Group C, they must first defeat Benin and hope for a misstep from South Africa against Rwanda.
On the other side, the Cheetahs are on the brink of history. With a victory, they would qualify for the World Cup finals for the first time ever.
Nigeria's head coach, Eric Chelle, has to cope without Atalanta Bergamo striker Ademola Lookman, who is suspended, as well as Ola Aina, who is injured.
Group C remains one of the tightest in the competition, with three teams still vying for qualification heading into the final round.
Nigeria: Nwabali - Fredrick, Troost-Ekong, Bassey, Onyemaechi - Ndidi, Iwobi; Chukwueze, Simon - Osimhen, Arokodare.
