Everything you need to know about Nigeria vs Benin
Nigeria - Bénin/@Ouest France
Nigeria and Benin go head-to-head this Tuesday in the clash of the matchday. Both teams are still in the running for a spot in the final stage of the 2026 World Cup.
The Cheetahs, sitting atop Group C with 17 points, are just 90 minutes away from making history for their country. They hold a two-point lead over Bafana Bafana and are three points clear of the Super Eagles.
If Gernot Rohr's men win in Uyo, they'll qualify for the World Cup regardless of what happens in the South Africa vs Rwanda game. Otherwise, they'll have to break out the calculators.
Nigeria, for its part, still has one last card to play. Victor Osimhen and his teammates must beat Benin and hope for a favor from Rwanda. Everything is still up for grabs in Group C.
Channels to watch Nigeria vs Benin
The match will be broadcast on beIN Sports, ORTB, Shahid, DAZN, L'Équipe Live Foot, and FIFA+.
The two teams have faced each other several times in the past 15 years, with a slight edge for the Super Eagles, who won (2-0) at AFCON 2008, (1-0) at AFCON 2010, (2-0) at CHAN 2017, (2-1) at AFCON 2019, and (3-0) in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
Benin have won twice: (1-0) in 2017 and (2-1) in 2024, during the first leg of these qualifiers. The last encounter between the two nations, as part of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers, ended in a draw (1-1).
