FLW has taken a look at four players who should follow Joel Piroe to West Ham United this summer

West Ham United are set to bring in their third new face of the summer in the form of Leeds United striker Joel Piroe, as FLW takes a look at four other players that could follow the Suriname international to East London before the deadline.

Piroe, 27, has fallen out of favour at Elland Road ever since Leeds' promotion to the Premier League in 2025, being limited to just 246 minutes of league football throughout last campaign, with each of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha, and Noah Okafor preferred by Daniel Farke.

Now, the former Swansea City star looks set to make the switch from West Yorkshire to the English capital on loan with an obligation to buy, where he will help to reinforce Nuno Espirito Santo's attacking options.

Piroe will follow both Joel Veltman and Manor Solomon to the London Stadium this window, though with two weeks remaining until the transfer deadline, more are expected through the doors, as FLW takes a look at four realistic options that West Ham could be targeting over the coming days and weeks.

Amario Cozier-Duberry

Brighton and Hove Albion winger Amario Cozier-Duberry is a player in demand this summer.

The former Arsenal academy star excelled on loan with Bolton Wanderers in League One last season, scoring eight and assisting 12 in just 34 league games for the Trotters, but now, could be set for a move to the Championship.

Scottish side Rangers have seen a £7.5 million bid rejected for the 21-year-old, with Pete O'Rourke reporting that the Seagulls have slapped a £10 million price tag on the youngster, who has two years remaining on his current deal at the Amex.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are also interested in a move, but with Jarrod Bowen lacking competition and any real alternative on the right flank, Cozier-Duberry would offer excellent cover, as well as a long-term solution to the Hammers captain on that side of the attack.

Ao Tanaka

Japanese midfielder Ao Tanaka, like Piroe, has seen his game time slashed following the Whites' promotion to the Premier League in 2025, and could be on the move this summer.

West Ham have parted ways with both Mateus Fernandes and Freddie Potts, and whilst the addition of Arne Engels from Celtic will help to mitigate those departures, another option in the middle of the park wouldn't go amiss, especially with Edson Alvarez still expected to leave.

Tanaka, at 27, ought to be entering his prime years, and given Leeds only paid Fortuna Dusseldorf around £3 million just two years ago to bring him to Elland Road, they could be tempted to make a healthy profit on him before the deadline.

Unlikely to break the bank, the Japanese international would be an incredible option for Nuno Espirito Santo in the middle of the park, and simply must be considered this summer.

Harry Amass

Manchester United left-back Harry Amass has reportedly been made available for a mere £6 million this summer, alerting numerous Championship sides to his situation.

The 19-year-old excelled on loan with Sheffield Wednesday during the first half of last campaign, before injury disrupted his time with Norwich City in the second half, as now, a permanent exit from Old Trafford could be on the cards.

With El Hadji Malick Diouf heavily linked with a £40 million move to Brentford, West Ham will need another option to Ollie Scarles in that position, and Amass could be an excellent fit.

Capable of playing in a back four as a left-back, or as wing-back in a back five, the Englishman has proven to be effective in both attack and defence despite his lack of experience at the senior level, and would be a wonderful addition for the Hammers if they can pull it off.

James Tavernier

As Aaron Wan-Bissaka edges closer to a move to Aston Villa, this leaves just Kyle Walker-Peters as the only obvious choice at right-back in the Hammers squad.

Whilst Veltman can operate there if required, another option who can push the former Southampton full-back to a starting berth at the London Stadium ought to be considered, as former Rangers star James Tavernier could be that someone.

The 34-year-old scored 144 goals and grabbed 148 assists in 565 appearances for Rangers across all competitions during his decade-long spell at Ibrox, but was allowed to leave the club this summer upon the expiry of his contract.

The Englishman has been in talks with numerous MLS clubs, including Charlotte, as West Ham have been credited with a link to the right-back previously, as Nuno should look to add another experienced head to his back line, and one that offers serious competition to Walker-Peters.
