Plymouth Argyle are looking to establish themselves as a club ready to fight for promotion once again.

Following their relegation to League One in 2025, the Pilgrims struggled to adapt to life in the third tier, and even suffered at the bottom of the table before Tom Cleverley's side embarked on a sensational turnaround.

Finishing eighth, just two points away from the play-offs, Plymouth rescued what could have been a disastrous situation.

13 have left, and seven have arrived this summer, with Cleverley's squad undergoing wholesale changes, and the club may not be done yet, with sides having until September 1st to conclude their business.

With this in mind, Football League World takes a look at who could yet leave before the deadline at the start of next month.

Bim Pepple

Joining from Luton Town last summer, Bim Pepple proved fantastic for the Pilgrims last term.

When Lorant Tolaj was absent last summer, Pepple deputised well and struck up a superb combination with the now-Bristol City forward when they did play together.

But a move could still be on the cards.

On the 20th August, The Guardian reported that Championship side Wrexham are interested in the 23-year-old, while Preston are also interested, alongside clubs from the continent and MLS.

This season, Pepple has started as one of the first names on the teamsheet and opened his account on derby day when the Pilgrims beat Exeter 2-0 in the opening round of the Carabao Cup.

He is said to be an alternative to Leeds striker Lukas Nmecha, the main target. But having already lost Tolaj this summer, Plymouth will be desperate to keep hold of Pepple.

Freddie Issaka

Freddie Issaka's situation is different from Pepple's, with a loan move the most realistic possibility for the teenager.

The 19-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Bristol Rovers before joining National League side Truro City in February. The academy graduate has since returned to Home Park and impressed from the bench in the cup win against Exeter.

Before the opening-weekend loss to Stockport, Argyle boss Cleverley said a decision could be made on what happens with Issaka throughout the season, with Plymouth Live suggesting the comments indicated the club could look to loan him out.

He remains highly rated and is tied down until 2028, with his cameo in the early stages of the season giving his manager something to work with as he considers the month's outcome.

Tegan Finn

Tegan Finn was the other individual Cleverley named when discussing decisions to be made before the end of the month, with nothing to suggest the 18-year-old is up for sale.

Finn only signed his first professional deal last summer, with Cleverley describing him as one of Plymouth's key academy prospects.

He would go on to make 19 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 season, notching up three goals and two assists in the process.

However, the youngster is yet to feature this season after a groin issue disrupted his pre-season.

Plymouth Live report that he is set to start against Coventry in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, and this could be what decides his future, with the club left having to decide between further minutes in the side this term or a potential loan switch elsewhere.

Caleb Roberts

Alongside the aforementioned pair, Caleb Roberts could also be a realistic loan candidate before the transfer deadline.

The 20-year-old was an unused substitute against Exeter in the cup earlier this month, before he dropped into Argyle's under-21 side.

Cleverley has grouped Roberts with Issaka and Finn when discussing youngsters, after he made 12 first-team appearances last season before a loan move to Truro City.

As with both Finn and Issaka, if substantial minutes are on the table this season, there may be an immediate future at Home Park.
