FLW takes a look at four Stoke City players who could still leave the club by 11pm on September 1st

It’s shaping up to be a busy final week or so of the summer transfer window for Stoke City, with more players expected in and out of the doors at the bet365 Stadium before too long.

Stoke began their summer by announcing the departures of Steven Nzonzi and Lewis Baker, whilst each of Divin Mubama, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, Ashley Phillips, and Gavin Bazunu have returned to their parent clubs following the conclusion of their loan spells.

Seven new faces have come through the doors so far, as head coach Mark Robins will likely be aiming to make it double digits of arrivals before the September deadline.

Each of Joshua Griffiths, Svante Ingelsson, Djibril Soumare, Ethan Galbraith, Luke Graham, and George Hirst has put pen to paper on permanent deals with the Potters, as Ben Johnson arrives on loan from Ipswich Town, following Hirst.

As Robins irons out his squad for the upcoming campaign, more departures to free up wages and positions will be a necessity, as FLW takes a look at four players who could still leave the club this summer.

Robert Bozenik

It was reported by The Sun’s Charlie Gordon that Stoke are looking to move on Slovakian striker Robert Bozenik before the deadline, with the 26-year-old having failed to impress during his spell in England.

The striker arrived from Portuguese outfit Boavista on a free transfer last summer, and netted just once in 22 Championship appearances, injuring his shoulder shortly after netting his first goal for the club, ruling him out for the majority of the second half of the season.

With each of Milan Smit, Nathan Lowe, and Emre Tezgel having been loaned out elsewhere for the year, Bozenik could be the next to follow suit, as with the addition of Hirst and Stoke’s intention of keeping Sam Gallagher, there is no obvious place in the side for the Slovakian.

Despite netting against Oldham Athletic in the League Cup, Bozenik has seemingly not done enough to convince Robins to keep him around; if an alternative can be sourced, he will leave the club before the deadline.

Bae Jun-Ho

Bae Jun-Ho has been a regular in the Stoke squad ever since he arrived in the United Kingdom three years ago for around £2 million. However, despite possessing undoubted quality, the South Korean international has failed to be amongst the goal contributions often enough, frustrating many Potters fans.

French giants Lyon were linked with a move for the 23-year-old earlier in the window, but a deal has since gone quiet on Bae, who has been limited to substitute appearances against both Oldham and Swansea City so far this season.

Nearing 150 appearances in all competitions for the club, with one year remaining on his current deal, it seems increasingly likely that the South Korean won’t be a Stoke player come September 1st, as Stoke look to cash in whilst they can.

Maksym Talovierov

Maksym Talovierov arrived in the Potteries last summer following Plymouth Argyle’s relegation, as the Ukrainian was unable to keep the Pilgrims afloat after joining from Austrian side LASK in January 2025 for a club-record fee.

The 26-year-old found himself behind each of Ben Wilmot, Bosun Lawal, and Ashley Phillips in the pecking order upon his arrival, with his minutes at centre-back being incredibly limited as a result.

Instead, he’d balance his time between right-back, following an injury to Junior Tchamadeu, and, on occasion, his preferred centre-back position, though could manage just 13 starts in 16 Championship appearances across the year.

Stoke’s recent link with San Diego defender Manu Duah, as well as the arrival of Johnson, suggests Robins isn’t entirely pleased with his centre-back options, as an exit for Talovierov before the deadline is a very real possibility.

Ben Pearson was an unused substitute in both of Stoke's victories over Oldham and defeat to Swansea, with the former Preston North End player seeing his minutes slashed as a result of the arrival of Galbraith, Soumare, and Ingelsson.

Although Tatsuki Seko’s exit will provide Pearson with some hope of minutes, with his contract due to expire next summer, this is Stoke’s last chance to cash in whilst they can.

Tomas Rigo will also surely be ahead of him in the pecking order in the deeper midfield role, as it would be no surprise to see the record holder for the most yellow cards in Championship history move on before too long.
