Los Angeles FC is now the most valuable soccer club in the United States. According to Sportico’s 2025 global valuations, the 2022 MLS Cup champions are worth $1.28 billion, placing LAFC 16th among all soccer clubs internationally.

The valuation show the slow but steady rise of MLS and how the balance of financial power in the sport is continuing to shift towards the U.S., with American clubs growing closer to the traditional Euro-powerhouses.

The latest worldwide valuations put five franchises based in the U.S. as earning over a billion dollars:

  • Los Angeles FC — $1.28B (16th globally)
  • Inter Miami — $1.19B (17th globally)
  • LA Galaxy — $1.11B (18th globally)
  • Atlanta United — $1.08B (19th globally)
  • New York City FC — $1.0B (20th globally)

These clubs are part of the American share of the 19 MLS teams currently valued among the 50 most valuable in the world and no other league outside of Europe can claim a presence like that. For instance, MLS even surpasses the Premier League, which has 14 teams.

For LAFC, being the team at the top of that list goes beyond just a collection of names or success on the field, as their downtown venue in Los Angeles is a stadium that is now also a full-time year-round sports and entertainment venue, which allowed the team to create additional revenue streams, while their consistent supporters help their average attendance figures.

And while the club has managed to stay competitive on the field, embedding their image as a successful business and winning organization, there is still a huge gap separating LAFC from the top euro teams at the global level.

Teams like Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Barcelona all have valuations above $6 billion, far exceeding even MLS’s best teams.
