Glasgow Rangers have officially secured the loan of Nasser Djiga from Wolverhampton until the end of the 2025-2026 season.

Here are 5 things to know about the Burkinabè international who is about to experience the Scottish league for the first time.

  • Born on November 15, 2002 in Bobo-Dioulasso, Djiga came up through the ranks at Vitesse FC. He was spotted by scouts from FC Basel, who brought him to Switzerland in 2021.
  • After an underwhelming first season, he went out on loan twice—first to Nîmes Olympique in France, then to Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.
  • Permanently signed by the Serbian club in 2024, he was sold just six months later for three times his original transfer fee. Wolves paid €12 million to bring him in.
  • He made only six appearances in England—five in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup.
  • The 22-year-old defender is a Burkinabè international with eight caps (one goal) for the Stallions.
