A buyer found for Boey? Bayern make room for dream player Read

Sacha Boey is still one of FC Bayern’s hottest sales candidates and now an old acquaintance is coming into focus: Galatasaray Istanbul are once again looking at a move for the right-back.

It has been known for months that FC Bayern would like to sell Sacha Boey. Despite good performances during Josip Stanisic’s injury break, the Frenchman has not been able to work his way up the hierarchy in the long term. Konrad Laimer is currently clearly ahead on the right side of defence – and little is likely to change in the medium term. A departure in the winter is therefore absolutely conceivable, as several media have recently reported.

Galatasaray Istanbul, Boey’s former club, was already mentioned as a possible destination in the summer, although the Turks only wanted to bring him back on loan at the time. According to transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, Galatasaray are continuing to monitor the situation very closely.

Gala thinking about transfer – Bayern hoping for sale proceeds

Boey’s market value is currently around €18 million, around €12 million less than the sum Bayern transferred in January 2024. Nevertheless, a sale would be attractive for the record champions for several reasons: it would streamline the squad – and, above all, free up urgently needed funds for planned transfers.

Because one thing is clear: Bayern need budget for top talent Givairo Read from Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Plettenberg reports that Munich are already in „advanced talks“ with the 19-year-old’s entourage. An agreement has yet to be reached, but the direction is clear: Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are pushing the deal forward with high priority.

Read is regarded internally as the absolute dream player for the right side of defence. His profile – dynamic, strong in tackles, already astonishingly mature internationally – fits perfectly into the long-term squad planning. The youngster should establish himself at the record champions and shape the position in the medium term.

Great competition at Read – Bayern needs a clear line

But the transfer will be anything but easy. Read is highly sought-after: several Premier League clubs have him on their radar, and some are said to have already made loose inquiries. His market value is around 20 million euros – but in view of the international competition, the transfer fee could be significantly higher.

Bayern need room to maneuver in order to keep up in this poker game, and a sale of Boey would create exactly that.
