FC Bayern continues to work on a sale of Bryan Zaragoza. While the Spaniard himself does not want to force a quick transfer, new opportunities on the transfer market could now arise for the German record champions. According to media reports, there is concrete interest in the winger from both Spain’s La Liga and Saudi Arabia.

Bryan Zaragoza is among the players who no longer have a future at FC Bayern. Sporting director Max Eberl recently stated publicly that the 23-year-old is expected to leave the club this summer. However, a transfer has proven difficult so far.

As reported by the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Zaragoza himself feels no time pressure. Following his less-than-successful loan spell at AS Roma, the attacking player wants to take his time to find the right next step in his career.

Spain remains Zaragoza’s preferred destination

According to the report, Zaragoza continues to prefer a return to his home country. Espanyol Barcelona and Deportivo Alavés are said to be the latest two clubs to have inquired about the terms of a transfer.

However, it remains to be seen whether either of these clubs can meet Bayern Munich’s financial demands. Zaragoza moved from Granada to Munich in early 2024 for a total transfer fee of around 17 to 19 million euros. Accordingly, Bayern is likely keen to recoup at least part of its investment.

Saudi Arabia could help Bayern

From the record champion’s perspective, however, another development is particularly interesting. According to Mundo Deportivo, Zaragoza has also received “financially attractive” offers from Saudi Arabia.

A move to the Saudi Pro League could be an attractive solution for all parties involved. While Zaragoza would benefit financially, Bayern would have a much better chance of securing a higher transfer fee than they would with a transfer within Europe.

Whether the Spaniard can envision a move to the Middle East, however, remains to be seen.

One thing is certain: Munich wants to sell Zaragoza permanently this summer. Following the sales of several players, the squad is set to be further streamlined and the payroll reduced. If Bayern succeeds in finding a suitable buyer for Zaragoza, this would be another important step in their ongoing squad planning.
