Speculation surrounding Michael Olise and Real Madrid shows no signs of abating. Now, news off the field is also drawing attention: The FC Bayern attacking star apparently has to find a new place to live in Munich. However, this is reportedly unrelated to a possible move to Spain.

For weeks, numerous rumors have swirled around the future of the French national team player. Real Madrid continues to be considered the most interested suitor, while Bayern Munich has repeatedly emphasized that it has no intention of selling Olise.

Now, a personal change in the 24-year-old’s life is making headlines.

Boateng terminates his lease

As reported by BILD, Olise must vacate his villa in Grünwald by the end of August. The property belongs to former Bayern pro Jérôme Boateng, who has reportedly terminated the lease agreement with the Frenchman.

However, according to the report, there is no connection to the transfer rumors surrounding Real Madrid. Rather, Boateng has reportedly been looking to sell his property since 2024. After initially failing to find a buyer, Olise was able to move into the house following his transfer from Crystal Palace. Now the sale is reportedly finally imminent, which is why the Bayern star must look for new accommodations.

On the field, the Frenchman’s future remains one of the biggest topics of this transfer summer. Speculation about a move to Real Madrid is said to have intensified once again during the World Cup. According to media reports, Kylian Mbappé repeatedly urged his national teammate to join Los Blancos during the tournament.

It was also reported that Olise had hinted at his desire to leave while with the French national team. However, there are no concrete indications of an imminent transfer as of yet.

On the contrary: Both The Athletic and Mundo Deportivo recently reported in unison that Real Madrid internally considers signing the Bayern star this summer to be virtually impossible. Among other factors, the enormous costs—which, including the transfer fee, could amount to well over 200 million euros—are said to be a decisive factor.

Sky also recently reported that Olise currently has no plans to leave Munich. Meanwhile, FC Bayern continues to pursue the goal of extending his contract—which runs through 2029—early. According to reports, the Munich club would be willing to raise the attacking player’s annual salary from around 14 million to about 25 million euros.

It’s no coincidence that Bayern is so determined to keep Olise. Over the past two seasons, the Frenchman has developed into one of the record champions’ most important attacking players, racking up an impressive 96 goal contributions in 107 competitive matches so far. At the World Cup, he also set a new tournament record with seven assists, once again underscoring his exceptional value to the Munich club.
