So far this season, a key duo for Manchester City is yet to make a mark this season. Phil Foden and Rodri have made a slow start to the 24/25 season. There have been several factors that have contributed to this. But ahead of City’s Premier League clash with Brentford the pair look set to potentially return to action at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking during his pre-game press conference ahead of City’s match with Brentford at the Etihad Stadium Pep Guardiola was asked about the condition of Phil Foden and Rodri. The update from Pep Guardiola on the fitness of Rodri and Phil Foden is good news for Manchester City. Rodri has needed time to recover from a hamstring injury he suffered during Spain’s European Championships triumph. The midfielder went off injured at halftime of Spain’s 2-1 win over England in the final of the tournament. But he did return to the pitch for Spain during the international break which is good news for City.

Phil Foden has missed Manchester City’s past two games due to illness. He also withdrew from international duty with England due to the ailment. He has also needed rest after his busy summer with England at the European Championships. But he looks to ready to return to the pitch based on Pep Guardiola’s latest update.

It remains to be seen if the pair will start against Brentford tomorrow. But the fact that the pair are back and available is good news for Manchester City.
