A landslide victory! Bayern’s young players give Bodo/Glimt no chance | OneFootball

Before the pros take the field at 9:00 p.m., the U19 youngsters were already in action against Bodo/Glimt this afternoon. Vincent Kompany’s team should certainly be able to live with that result tonight.

In their UEFA Youth League opener, FC Bayern’s U19 team got off to a perfect start. The Munich side routed their guests from Norway 6–1. The goals were scored by Noah Codjo-Evora, Bogdan Olychenko, Matouš Srb, Frank Egwuatu, and Bastian Assomo. An own goal by Johannes Linaker Jenssen gave them a 3-0 lead at one point and sealed the 6-1 final score.

Bayern take an early lead

In the third minute, Codjo-Evora scored the first goal for Munich. After a blocked shot by Bastian Assomo, the forward reacted quickest and capitalized on the rebound to make it 1–0.

Bayern extended their lead just three minutes later. Assomo won the ball in the opponent’s half and set up Wisdom Mark Imade. The winger beat his defender and found Olychenko, who simply had to tap it in to make it 2–0.

After this spell, FCB clearly had the game under control and created numerous additional chances. Assomo and Codjo-Evora, in particular, posed a constant threat, but they were denied several times by Bodo goalkeeper Andersen. The teams went into halftime with a well-deserved 2-0 lead.

No letup in the second half

Even after the break, Bayern continued to clearly dictate the pace of the game. In the 50th minute, Imade’s sharp cross led to the 3–0 goal when Bodø defender Linaker Jenssen deflected the ball into his own net.

Although the visitors pulled one back just two minutes later through Hindrin Chooly, the FCB responded promptly. After a quick counterattack led by Assomo, Srb restored the three-goal lead in the 58th minute with a spectacular curling shot.

In the closing stages, the Munich team sealed the decisive victory. Egwuatu scored in the 88th minute to make it 5–1, before Assomo capped off his strong performance in stoppage time with the goal that set the final score at 6–1.
