Jeremy Doku scored a brace and added an assist for his country overnight. Yes, Liechtenstein isn’t the highest level of opponent, but Doku and Belgium could only beat what was in front of them. They did that in style. As for Doku, he lined up on the left wing and drifted centrally on occasions. It is a role he plays exceptionally well for Manchester City. He did that last night for his country. Doku tormented the Liechtenstein defence and he was at the hub of Belgium’s sparkling attacking play. Doku’s trickery was there with his dribbling, and his pace and power were too much for the Liechtenstein defence to handle. More importantly, his end product was there and his brace and assist were fine reward for Doku’s performance.

Manchester City will be hoping Jeremy Doku’s improvement continues.

What we have seen this season so far is that Jeremy Doku has added consistency and consistent end product to his game. Doku always had the raw tools to be a devastating winger. What was lacking was the consistency in the final third in Doku’s game. This season has seen that aspect of Doku’s game improve markedly and he is an infinitely more dangerous player for both and country.

Manchester City will be hoping that Doku’s performance against Liechtenstein is a sign of things to come. So far this season the Belgian international has been one of the .most dangerous wingers in the Premier League and European football. If his form holds, Pep Guardiola’s side will be a nightmare to contain. Jeremy Doku figures to have a large role to play this season and if his form holds, the sky is the limit for what Doku could become as a player with his physical and technical attributes.

Jeremy Doku will return to Manchester City in scintillating form. With a tricky away trip to St. James Park to take on Newcastle United on Saturday awaiting Pep Guardiola’s side, they’ll be hoping that Doku’s strong recent form can continue to aid City’s cause when domestic football returns this weekend.
