“A matter of time” – Bayern insider sends clear Harry Kane message to Man United

Manchester United have been explicitly told that their chances of signing Harry Kane next summer are increasingly slim.

The 33-year-old is coming off the most prolific season of his career, netting 73 times for Bayern Munich and the English national team.

The striker remains one of the most important players for the Bavarian giants, but his expiring contract has raised speculation over his future.

Kane’s contract situation has alerted a host of clubs around Europe, especially Man Utd, who are longtime admirers of the England captain.

In fact, many believe the Red Devils committed a big blunder when they allowed Bayern to sign the bomber from Tottenham in the summer of 2023 without putting up a fight.

Since his departure to Germany, Kane has been linked with a return to his home country almost every summer. But according to reliable German journalist Christian Falk, the striker is happy to extend his time in Bavaria, and he is expected to pen a new contract.

“I talked with Herbert Hainer, the club president, about the situation and everyone was saying, ‘relax’; everyone thinks a new contract will just be a matter of time,” wrote Falk in the latest column for CF Bayern Insider.

“There are a few questions around contract talks that have to be cleared but everyone is confident that things will work out. I think in the next month – absolutely this year, not next year – we’ll see a contract announcement.”

Therefore, the journalist made it clear that Man Utd won’t be able to sign Kane, at least not any time soon.

“I’m really sure that Kane will put pen to paper on an extension this side of 2026. Then, Harry Kane is off the market for every other club for a long time. Sorry again to his long-time admirers, Manchester United!”

Why Man Utd should finally move on from Kane

While he might be the deadliest goalscorer in the current day and age, Kane is already 33, and by the time he decides to leave Bayern, he could be 35 or older.

Therefore, United simply have to accept that their opportunity to sign the Englishman has come and gone.

In Benjamin Sesko, the Reds have a reliable centre-forward who has all the makings to become a top-notch No.9.

INEOS should have paired the Slovenian with a more experienced striker who can take some of the burden off his shoulders, and perhaps the club will work on this front in January, but they first need to free up space by offloading the seemingly redundant Joshua Zirkzee.
