A move to Bayern? Jeltsch comments on the transfer rumors | OneFootball

Finn Jeltsch is considered one of Germany’s most promising defensive talents. Most recently, the 20-year-old has also been linked with FC Bayern. The center back himself, however, isn’t thinking about that right now. His focus is on VfB Stuttgart and a major personal goal: the German national team.

Finn Jeltsch is set for a pivotal season with VfB Stuttgart. The young center back has already proven his caliber in the Bundesliga and the Europa League and now has the chance to prove himself in the Champions League as well.

FC Bayern is said to be closely monitoring the 20-year-old’s development. Specific interest from the German record champions has been a recurring topic of discussion recently. Jeltsch, however, is not letting that distract him.

“I’ve read that, too. But it’s not something I’m really concerned with. My full focus is on the upcoming season with VfB. I have an ideal environment here and can play in the Champions League,” the defender explained in an interview with the Stuttgarter Zeitung.

Jeltsch is thus making it clear that a possible move to Munich is not a priority for him at this time. Instead of getting caught up in transfer rumors, he wants to continue developing at VfB and let his performance on the field speak for itself.

Jeltsch dreams of playing for the national team

The Stuttgart player, however, is much more specific when it comes to another topic. The center back has his sights firmly set on the German national team. After playing for various DFB youth teams, Jeltsch hopes to one day play for the senior national team and is hoping for a call from new national team coach Jürgen Klopp.

“Absolutely, that’s definitely my goal. Playing for Germany was already something truly special back in the youth national teams. And if Jürgen Klopp were to get in touch, I’d be thrilled. It’s a big dream,” said Jeltsch.

With that in mind, Jeltsch is focusing primarily on his athletic development in Stuttgart. If Jeltsch can build on his strong performances from last season and take the next steps, the youngster could quickly become a topic of discussion at the DFB.

Jürgen Klopp revealed at his introductory press conference that he has a list of 57 names who could play for the DFB in the future—Finn Jeltsch is likely to be one of them.
