Gulf United is currently in talks to sign Cameroonian midfielder Petrus Boumal before the new season kicks off. The experienced player is currently without a club after his contract with Al Orooba expired and could continue his career in the UAE, though this time in the second tier.

According to sources, negotiations between Boumal and Gulf United FC are at an advanced stage. The club, which is aiming for promotion to the UAE Pro League, has chosen to build a squad around seasoned players familiar with the Emirati league. A one-year contract is reportedly under discussion between the parties.

Having previously developed at Sochaux and featuring in leagues across Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, and Hungary, the midfielder may now extend his career in the United Arab Emirates—a country where he has already made 43 league appearances over two seasons.

Gulf United is aiming to finalize the deal as quickly as possible before the new season begins. Boumal’s current market value is estimated at €450,000 according to Transfermarkt.
