AC Milan has identified a new primary target for their squad reinforcement, with reports pointing towards Real Madrid's Ukrainian goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin. According to the respected journalist Ekrem Konur, the 26-year-old shot-stopper is now a key focus for the Italian club's transfer strategy.

It is understood that Real Madrid has set an asking price for Lunin in the range of €25-30 million, a valuation deemed accessible for Milan. A significant figure expected to facilitate the potential move is former Real Madrid captain Luka Modrić. The Croatian legend, who shares a dressing room history with Lunin, is reportedly playing an active role in persuading the goalkeeper to embrace the opportunity at the San Siro, using his considerable influence in both Madrid and Milan circles.

The driving factor behind Lunin's potential exit is a severe lack of playing time at the Santiago Bernabéu. Having joined Real Madrid from Zorya Luhansk for €8.5 million in 2018, Lunin has managed only a single appearance this season. Across his six-year tenure with Los Blancos, he has featured in 63 matches, conceding 73 goals while achieving 22 clean sheets.

Despite his current contract with the Spanish giants running until 2030, and a market value estimated at €18 million by Transfermarkt, Lunin's search for regular first-team football appears to be paving the way for a transfer, with Milan emerging as a likely destination.
