Adama Traore has joined West Ham from Fulham on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, reuniting with Nuno Espirito Santo. According to Hounslow Herald, the 30-year-old ends a two-and-a-half-year stay in SW6.

Traore previously worked with Nuno at Wolves between 2018 and 2021, the most productive spell of his top-flight career. He has been capped eight times by Spain.

This season he made only two league starts and 15 appearances in all competitions. His final outing came in the FA Cup third-round win at Middlesbrough on 10 January. He was not involved in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Brighton.

Traore said he was delighted to join, aimed to help the team and improve, and believed they are going to achieve their aims.

Nuno said Traore adds a different option in attack as West Ham attempts to climb out of the relegation zone, and that the winger is motivated to bring energy, commitment and determination.

Traore began his career at Barcelona, then moved to Aston Villa and Middlesbrough before establishing himself at Wolves as one of the Premier League’s most explosive wide players. Across the top flight he has 262 appearances, 14 goals and 27 assists.

His Fulham stint was mixed, returning four Premier League goals and 10 assists, with Marco Silva often using his pace from the bench. His exit trims Silva’s options and frees space for Manchester City’s Oscar Bobb, who has agreed personal terms, with a fee believed to be around £35m under negotiation.
