Paul Pogba (32) is not yet fit to return to action. Whilst he now regularly trains with his teammates, and plays a ‘joker’ role in possession games, he still needs to make the final steps in order to complete his return, following an absence of over two years.
When he joined Monaco at the end of June, Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro evoked a three-month programme for La Pioche. That would have put Pogba on course for a return around the start of October. We have now reached that point.
However, he will not be involved against Manchester City tonight, nor will he be fit to face OGC Nice in the Côte d’Azur derby on Sunday. However, speaking in a press conference attended by Get French Football News, Adi Hutter struck a positive tone and provided specifics about Pogba’s potential return.
“We maybe expected him to be in the squad against Nice, but we may need to wait until Angers…. we hope that, after the international break, he can play,” said Hutter. Angers is the first game back after the international break, and we now, for the first time, have a specific potential return date for the France international.
