Vasco sporting director Admar says the club remain hopeful of signing Tottenham forward Richarlison this window, with talks ongoing.
According to Globo.com, he believes Richarlison would lift Vasco’s attacking level and that a deal is feasible. He added any legal termination between the player and Tottenham would be separate from Vasco.
Richarlison wants to join until December 2026 and has asked Tottenham to negotiate with the Rio club. Tottenham are seeking more than 20 million pounds for a permanent move, a figure Vasco cannot commit to now.
The striker accepted a loan on Tuesday, but a FIFA limit on such transfers initially scuppered the agreement. While the player explores a contract rescission, Pedrinho and Vasco’s hierarchy continue talks over a purchase, aware it is a difficult deal.
His representatives have decided to go to court to seek termination of his Tottenham contract.
Admar spoke after the Copa do Brasil semi-final venue draw at CBF headquarters on Thursday. He said Vasco prefer to host the tie at São Januário rather than Maracanã, as in the Vitória round.
The draw means Vasco will decide the semi-final against Palmeiras at home. The base dates are 1 and 8 November, with CBF still to confirm dates and times.
