ADO Den Haag are heading back to the Eredivisie for the first time since the 2020/21 campaign. Robin Peter’s side have enjoyed a remarkable season in the Eerste Divisie, winning 24 of their 32 matches so far. That success has secured their return to the top flight with six games to spare.

On Tuesday, De Ooievaars claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Jong Utrecht, with Evan Rottier converting the decisive goal. ADO still have work to do if they want to claim the title, with second-placed Cambuur just four points behind and a game in hand. Nevertheless, they’ve already achieved their primary objective, boasting a league-high 72 goals while also maintaining the division’s best defence, conceding only 31 times.

38-year-old head coach Robin Peter has worked wonders to guide this youthful ADO Den Haag squad to the top flight, with Austria youth international Luka Reischl and former Brighton talent Cameron Peupion among the standout performers. While making history with his players, Peter has also written himself into the record books, becoming the third-youngest manager to achieve promotion to the Eredivisie. The German now has the chance to prove himself at the highest level of Dutch football.
