Adrian Bajrami says he has no regrets about leaving Benfica for Luzern in 2025. “It was the best decision I made,” he told Luzerner Zeitung. The 24-year-old centre-back has since taken on a bigger role in Switzerland.

Bajrami joined Benfica from Young Boys but never established himself in the first team. He has since debuted for the Swiss national team after an earlier Albania call-up in which he did not play.

His switch to Luzern began as a loan and quickly became permanent. No fee was disclosed, but it is understood to have been 5 million euros. He signed a contract running until 2028.

Valued at 3 million euros, he has made 29 Swiss league appearances for Luzern, totalling 2,362 minutes, with one goal and one assist.

In the Schweizer Cup he has three matches and 246 minutes.
