AESAF has condemned Getafe coach José Bordalás for remarks on refereeing made after the 3-0 defeat at Alavés in Mendizorroza.
The association said in a statement that it lamented and condemned his language and what it called overreaction, adding that he tried to blame the refereeing body for his team’s specific result.
After the match, Getafe were left a man down following a straight red card to Kiko Femenía. In his press conference, the former Valencia manager said his side were not treated in the same way and described the dismissal as unjust.
AESAF also censured what it viewed as disrespect towards Manuel Jesús Orellana, who was making his Primera División debut.
It reiterated that refereeing must be guided by objectivity and equity, rejecting any suggestion of different treatment for particular clubs.
The body renewed its call for respect for match officials and for collective effort to maintain a healthy, respectable competition throughout the season.
For now, Bordalás will not face any sanction for his comments, though his remarks have drawn an early warning, issued three days after the game.
