According to Bournemouth Echo, a decision on enabling works for AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium expansion is due before the eastern BCP planning committee tomorrow.

The package proposes a new perimeter fence with turnstiles, an extension to the main stand, foundations for a new south stand and a broadcasting compound.

These are preparatory works ahead of a separate full planning application for the wider project. Council officers have recommended approval.

There is hope the scheme is cleared so work can continue during the season, preparing the ground for the full expansion planned between the end of this term and the start of next.

The completed redevelopment includes a 7,000-seater south stand to replace the current 2,337-seat temporary structure. Permission for that temporary stand expires in 2028, adding urgency to progress.
