Expected from the very first days of the Indomitable Lions' training camp in Casablanca, Christian Kofane has yet to arrive in Morocco. This situation raised questions, especially since the young Bayer Leverkusen striker is among the most anticipated talents ahead of AFCON 2025. But now, the situation is crystal clear.

According to information reported by L’Équipe 237 and confirmed by the player’s entourage, an official agreement has been reached between Bayer Leverkusen and the Cameroon Football Federation. The German club requested a special exemption to keep the striker until Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against RB Leipzig.

FECAFOOT, through Samuel Eto’o, has given the green light. Christian Kofane will therefore join the national team on Sunday, December 20, 2025, right after this high-profile encounter—the last major fixture for his club before the international break. The Indomitable Lions will kick off their AFCON campaign four days later against Gabon.
