Achraf Hakimi clinched the 2025 African Ballon d'Or on Wednesday evening. “This recognition crowns years of hard work, success, and unforgettable moments. I want to express my gratitude to my family, my teammates, and everyone who works with me every day, both on and off the pitch. Your trust, dedication, and support make me stronger and help me progress. Thank you to all the Moroccan people for always supporting me. I hope this moment inspires every child in our country and across our continent to believe in their dreams and fight to make them come true,” wrote the Moroccan star on his social media just moments after his triumph.

Also present at the gala held in Rabat, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi couldn't hide his pride: “For me, Achraf is one of the best in the world. And obviously the best African player. He’s a leader at PSG and the captain of Morocco. We are all proud of him.”
