Sevilla’s rebuild has quickened, with Arouna Sangante expected to be the next addition after the confirmed arrivals of Jon Guridi and Juan Iglesias.

Fabrizio Romano reports the centre-back will sign a five-year deal, keeping him at Sevilla until June 2031. ABC de Sevilla said in March the move had been lined up, and the new sporting team under Juan Ignacio Navarro has honoured the agreement reached before Antonio Cordón’s exit.

In line with the earlier deals, the Senegal international is set to join on a free from Le Havre, with a release clause of 50 million euros planned.

At around one metre ninety, he is a right-sided centre-back noted for aerial authority, set-piece threat and robust duelling. He can play out and cover at right-back, a versatility valued at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

Areas to improve include pace over large spaces and turning speed. At 24, his recent Le Havre captaincy fits Sevilla’s low-cost, high-upside profile.

José María del Nido Carrasco has outlined a frugal plan, with two free signings secured and loans targeted next.

Focus now turns to the goalkeeping position, with Diego Conde the leading option and a move from Villarreal expected to cost about one million euros. Joselu Mato remains under consideration for the forward line, and would arrive on a free from Al-Gharafa.
