According to Glorioso 1904, Marco Silva wants three further additions at Benfica after sealing the arrival of Jhon Durán, prioritising a defensive midfielder, a winger and a centre-back.

The club are working on multiple fronts and more ins and outs are expected. João Palhinha had been the leading midfield target, but Aston Villa have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich on a loan with an option to buy.

The midfielder is expected to travel to Birmingham on Monday, despite seriously considering Benfica. A return to Portugal to be closer to family, and the chance to work again with Marco Silva after Fulham, influenced his thinking.

Despite signing Jakub Kaminski, Silva still wants another wide player this summer. Andreas Schjelderup and Gianluca Prestianni are attracting interest across Europe, and a departure for one before the window shuts has not been ruled out.

The transfer of António Silva to Bournemouth will oblige Benfica to recruit a replacement at centre-back. Tiago Gabriel of Lecce, a Portugal under-21 international, is under consideration, although other, stronger options are also being assessed.
