Agent: ‘Fiorentina no longer option for Rodriguez’ | OneFootball

The agent representing Club America winger Brian Rodriguez confirms that negotiations with Fiorentina have been abandoned. ‘That is no longer an option.’

The 23-year-old Uruguay international had emerged as one of the main candidates for the Viola in the January transfer window.

He plays primarily on the left wing, but can also work on the right in an attacking trident.

“Going to Fiorentina would not have changed Brian’s life on an economic level, but it certainly would’ve been better for his career,” Edgardo Lasalvia told Sport 890.

“That is no longer an option and now Brian is focused on winning the next games with Club America.”

Only a few days ago, the same agent had spoken to Sport 890 in Uruguay and had a very different view of the situation.

“Brian Rodriguez is I hope packing his bags right now. Fiorentina are offering him a four-year contract with an option for a fifth, with America keeping a percentage of the sell-on fee.”

The other main option on Fiorentina’s radar for that role is Ruben Vargas, but here too negotiations with Augsburg are not going well.

Switzerland international Vargas can also play on the right or left wing and his contract with the German side runs to June 2025.

Fiorentina have signed Marco Davide Faraoni from Verona on loan, but otherwise their January transfer window has been relatively quiet.
