Ajax punish 10-man PEC Zwolle as Brandt strikes in stoppage time | OneFootball

Ajax beat PEC Zwolle 2-0 on Sunday to open their Eredivisie season with an away win after the hosts had Sherel Floranus sent off.

Before the break, Jasper Schendelaar saved from Aaron Bouwman and Steven Berghuis as Zwolle held firm.

Sherel Floranus was sent off in the 57th minute, leaving the hosts a player down.

Substitute Jorthy Mokio broke the deadlock (76.), steering in from Tolu Arokodare's pass.

Julian Brandt then settled it in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time from Mika Godts' pass. It was Brandt's first goal for the club since joining this summer. He now has one league goal, third in the Eredivisie scoring chart.

Godenzonen controlled 69.6% possession and attempted 26 shots, winning 10 corners. Zwolle mustered seven attempts and two on target.

Zwolle visit FC Twente next. Godenzonen travel to Shelbourne in the Conference League next.
