Julian Ryerson was forced off injured once more for Norway, departing in the 16th minute of a 2-1 defeat to Wales. It came four days after he left the pitch against Portugal with an injury.

According to BuLi News, there had been doubts over his availability before Thursday’s game. He was still named in the starting XI.

Norway struck early in Cardiff, but Wales kept Erling Haaland scoreless and turned the match around. HSV’s summer signing David Wolfe started for the visitors, while RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa played the last 15 minutes as ten-man Norway chased a late equaliser.

Elsewhere in the group, Portugal beat Denmark 4-2 without Cristiano Ronaldo. Wingers Adam Deghim and Nikolas Nartey featured for the hosts, while Wolfsburg’s Joakim Maehle registered his first international assist since 2023.

Fábio Silva, absent from Portugal squads since his debut in November 2024, was an unused substitute for the Group A4 leaders. Dortmund’s striker has one more chance to return during this international window, with Portugal hosting Norway on 4 October.
