Departures are in play at Villarreal. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Ilias Akhomach could leave on loan this winter and Alfonso Pedraza is trending towards a summer exit, though nothing is final.

Akhomach is under contract until June 2027, and both club and player could welcome a loan to secure minutes. He showed his potential before a serious knee injury and remains highly sought after in Primera.

His representatives have offered him to Getafe, Oviedo and Mallorca. With his national team, and two days from the Africa Cup of Nations final, he will meet the club next week to decide his next step.

Villarreal must also weigh whether to renew the winger or seek a cut-price sale in the summer, when he would have one year left on his deal. Competition on the flanks includes Buchanan, a key player for Marcelino, and Nicolas Pepe, who can play wide or up front.

As for Pedraza, those close to him insist nothing is closed with Lazio. Even so, talks appear advanced and the left-back is close to a provisional agreement for the next three seasons.

The academy graduate, a Europa League winner with the Submarino in 2021, is out of contract in June. He would leave for free after seven seasons in the first team.
