Al-Ahli explore Pape Gueye as Kessié extension considered | OneFootball

Al-Ahli have turned to Pape Gueye as an option to strengthen midfield while they now consider extending Franck Kessié after announcing his departure in early July. According to L'Équipe, the Saudi club are exploring multiple avenues for the position.

Gueye, 27, is a Senegal midfielder with Villarreal and formerly of Marseille and Le Havre.

He was named player of the Africa Cup of Nations final and recognised as the best African player in La Liga this season with Villarreal.

The Saudi Pro League side, recent Asian Champions League winners, hold strong interest in the Senegal international.

Any move would still require agreement with Villarreal. Gueye is under contract until 2028 and no deal has been reached.
