The club said in a statement on Tuesday that Armenia captain Eduard Spertsyan has joined from Krasnodar for around €22m. The attacking midfielder has signed a four-year deal to 2030 with an option for one further year.

He links up with a squad featuring Édouard Mendy and Enzo Millot, while Riyad Mahrez has just left.

It is the 26-year-old’s first move outside Russia. He came through the ranks there and stayed for his entire professional career.

Spertsyan departs having won the league in 2025 and delivering 58 goals and 50 assists in 185 matches.

At international level he has 41 caps for Armenia and 12 goals.
