Odsonne Édouard stays at Lens, turns down Rennes for Champions League

Odsonne Édouard has rejected a move to Rennes and will remain at RC Lens to play in the Champions League this season.

According to L'Équipe, the 28-year-old, contracted until 30 June 2028, was offered a significant salary increase to head to Brittany.

Agreement between the clubs was not an issue, with talks advancing on the basis of a transfer.

Rennes had made the former Crystal Palace forward their priority attacking target late in the window.

A Serie A club and another from La Liga, both also in the Champions League, attempted to sign the Frenchman.

His decision is now final.
