Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC are edging closer to the signing of Jordanian striker Yazan Al-Naimat from Qatar Stars League outfit Al-Arabi SC, Foot Africa can confirm.
The 26-year-old joined Al-Arabi at the beginning of last season from fellow Qatari side Al-Ahli SC, and is currently under contract until June 2027.
Yazan Al-Naimat has scored three goals and provided one assist in 11 appearances across all competitions this season.
Overall, the Jordanian center-forward, who is versatile, has netted 22 goals and set up a further 20 goals in 71 club matches in his professional football career.
On the international stage, Yazan has chipped in with 23 goals in 53 caps for the Jordan national team since making his debut in February 2021.
Now, sources have confirmed the Red Devils are in advanced stages to lure the player to Cairo as they look to replace Wessam Abou Ali, who left the club for MLS during the off-season.
Ahly have reached an agreement with the player on personal terms, and are ironing finer details to reach a club-to-club agreement with Al-Arabi.
An insider close to the matter has informed this publication that both parties are optimistic about striking an agreement and facilitate Yazan's move to North Africa.
