Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC've officially closed the door on transfer negotiations involving Palestinian forward Wessam Abou Ali confirming he'll remain with the club until the end of his contract in 2029.

Offers Rejected from UAE & USA

In statement released Sunday on the club’s official website, Al Ahly revealed it received multiple offers, most notably from Al Wasl (UAE) & Columbus Crew (USA).

  1. Al Wasl: Initial offer of 2.5 million dollar, later raised to 6 million dollar with 20% of resale value.
  2. Columbus Crew: Bid started at 4 million USD, climbed to 5.25 million dollar + 750K USD in bonuses + 10% of future sale.

However the Cairo based club deemed both offers below the player's true value. Al Ahly'd set their asking price at 9.5 million dollar with 2.5 million USD in add ons.

Deadline Passed, Deal Off

Negotiations with Columbus Crew dragged on, prompting Al Ahly to send official ultimatum with deadline of 10 Jul. When no response arrived, the club formally ended all discussions.

Abou Ali Fully Informed

The club emphasized that Wessam Abou Ali was kept informed throughout the negotiation process. The 26 year old joined Al Ahly from Sweden’s IK Sirius in Jan 2024, signing deal until summer 2029.
