Emam Ashour close to making his comeback, meeting scheduled with Thorup

As Emam Ashour prepares to rejoin full team training following the end of his suspension, Al Ahly head coach the Dane Jess Thorup is planning a private meeting with the player to ensure he’s fully ready for the next stage.

According to an internal club source quoted by the Egyptian site (Yallakora), the Danish manager will consult the fitness coach's report to thoroughly assess Ashour's physical condition before making a decision on his potential involvement.

The technical staff is considering including the midfielder in the matchday squad for the CAF Champions League clash against AS FAR. Ashour could prove to be a valuable asset off the bench, especially given the absence of “Zizo” and “Trézéguet.”

Ashour was disciplined after missing the trip to Tanzania. His punishment included a two-week suspension, a financial fine, and individual training sessions.

Al Ahly will host AS FAR at Cairo International Stadium next Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the sixth and final round of the group stage, aiming to secure top spot after already clinching qualification.
