Al-Hilal have parted company with long-serving defender Ali Al-Bulaihi after agreeing a contractual settlement, ending a nine-year spell despite a year left on his deal. The club announced the decision on X in the early hours of Tuesday.
Across his time in Riyadh he made 263 appearances in all competitions, scored 23 goals and lifted 14 trophies, according to Asharq Al-Awsat.
The board, chaired by Prince Nawaf bin Saad, thanked Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal for covering the value of the settlement and praised his sustained backing, calling it part of a long-established relationship with the club.
Al-Bulaihi joined from Al-Fateh in summer 2017 and remained until this summer. He spent the second half of last season on a six-month loan at Al-Shabab after falling out of favour under Italian coach Simone Inzaghi.
He was omitted from Al-Hilal’s pre-season camp in Austria and had recently been training alone away from the group.
