Al Hilal cool pursuit of right winger as Inzaghi’s plan stalls | OneFootball

According to Goal.com, Al-Hilal look set to close the summer window without delivering Simone Inzaghi’s desired right winger after financial and technical hurdles stalled the plan. The Italian’s priority now appears on ice until at least winter.

The club have already reinforced the left with Dutchman Crysencio Summerville, and Inzaghi wanted a complementary foreign option on the right. A move for Everton’s Senegalese winger Iliman Ndiaye then stalled over the fee.

Alternative targets also came to nothing, some too expensive, others blocked by sides unwilling to lose starters before kick-off. Spending at Saudi clubs has tightened since the early Public Investment Fund phase, and deals of this size now face closer scrutiny.

The stance points to keeping the squad intact and shelving a high-cost winger until the winter window, in line with the club’s present vision. Further complicating recruitment, Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez still occupies a foreign slot, limiting room to register any newcomer.

If Nunez remains until the window shuts, Al-Hilal would start the season with what they have and revisit the flank in winter, unless a late twist emerges.

Even so, there are options on the right. Malcom tops the list, though his future is uncertain amid exit talk. Sultan Mandash can operate on either side, Summerville can switch across, and rising French talent Simon Bouabre is pushing for minutes.
